Influence By Design for
Tobacco-Use Prevention
Climate Action
Animated host, Jose, takes students on an adventure into the world of marketing and advertising to uncover how young people have been under the influence of harmful industries. By comparing decades-old advertisements with those seen today, students deconstruct the design strategies that have been used to suggest beliefs and influence behaviors. Students turn the tables by using Canva.com to create PSA graphics, ready to be printed or posted on social.
This 3-part workshop comes in both face-to-face and remote learning formats. It can be completed in 3 class periods with facilitation or assigned as a self-paced project.
