Royer Studios’ animated host, Lakeena, inspires students to explore the environmental factors shaping their communities—both protective and harmful—while empowering them to make a difference. In just three class periods, students work in teams to produce engaging, Q&A-style podcasts. Along the way, they uncover key facts, propose impactful strategies, and share their ideas for transforming community health.
Using Soundtrap.com, students record and edit their podcast content, and with Canva.com, they design custom cover art, ensuring their powerful messages are ready to be shared with peers, families, and beyond.
This versatile 3-part workshop is designed for both in-person and remote learning, making it easy to implement in any classroom setting. Whether facilitated by a Royer Studios teaching artist or assigned as a self-paced project, the program delivers a rich blend of collaboration, creativity, and real-world application.
